This is why a unity government is not happening in Malaysia

Mahathir launched the idea of a government bypassing party lines with MPs joining him but it failed and now Umno is pushing for a ‘grand coalition’. Will it work?

The opposition leader and leader of the Keadilan in September suggested the formation of a new government.

He said he had the help of MPs from all parties willing to join him in this new government.

The current configuration in the Parliament does not allow for the formation of a unity government unless all parties agree to work with each other in the interest of the nation

After analysing the position of bigger parties in the Parliament, we can see that the Parliament is in limbo.
