The Day I Found Out I Needed a Soul Surgery

The doctor gave me three prescriptions to manage my symptoms

Lately, I have been battling some issues — physical and spiritual.

I go to this doctor for diabetes and go to that doctor for chronic pain. I also have a foot doctor for neuropathy from diabetes. Every thirty days, I make my rounds, and the cycle never ends.

This month I sat down with my head in my hands and poured over the calendar of events, appointments, therapy, fights with the insurance company, managing finances. I felt drained spiritually.

Even though it is a struggle managing all my medications and appointments, I also monitor my husband’s medical needs. I get hit with a double whammy every single month.

If I could just feel better, this would not be so hard. I dream of the day when there are no more tears or crying or pain. In the meantime, I turn to my source of strength and comfort — the Bible.

I read several passages about healing, and I came to a realization.

Therefore, I decided to make an appointment and have an in-depth consultation with the Great Physician — Dr. Jesus.

The diagnosis was that I needed a soul surgery. The Doctor gave me several prescriptions for the following conditions before He scheduled my surgery.

I apply the oil to my body and over my soul.

Anointing with oil has numerous spiritual and physical implications throughout the Bible. For example, oil represents the power and action of the Holy Spirit in one’s life.

When David was anointed with oil to be king over Israel in 1 Samuel 16:13, the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him from that day forward.

Also, Acts 10:38 describes how Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, went about doing good and healing people.
