New Found Hope

I was lost for many years, too many to count, and too many spent wandering, looking, waiting for something good to happen. I even lost my faith in God and found myself in the darkest of places, my mind. I still find myself trying to escape at times but with age comes wisdom and realization. I distanced myself from everyone and everything but in that time of solitude, I started realizing things about myself, my actions, my behavior, etc. Being alone helped me to grow stronger and smarter. You want to know some things I have learned? Well, for one, friends come and go and its a joint-effort to keep one going but they come to help you grow and get to the next chapter. It’s okay to watch them leave because your memories made together help them stay with you. Next thing learned, you can wish and pray for good things to happen or even miracles but I have learned without putting in an effort towards your wishes and dreams, thats all they will ever be. You see, in our darkest times we want help and expect a helping hand to be our savior, well it can only pull you out for a moment, it’s up to you to put that foot forward and just keep going. I found my love and she was with me in my dark place, but I dont rely on her to save me or stay in this place with me, instead I appreciate her for visiting from time to time, reminding me of where the light is and I find my own way out. She is the fuel to my will power. See we all have hopes, think of hopes as stepping stones to your dreams, each new found hope gets you closer to your dreams.
