Our body is in a constant state of change with the changing technology and the changing world. Physiologically, emotionally etc. And this brings to mind the question of how it affects living things. Many methods are being developed to understand the reactions in the body. For example; EEG (electroencephalography), which is used in neurology, is monitored by measuring brain waves with electrodes. In this way, epilepsy, brain tumors or some psychological disorders can be diagnosed by monitoring the brain.

With the developing world and the fast life of people, it has been tried to learn more about the human body for a healthy life in recent years. Especially recently, studies on stress have increased. Research has also been conducted on which function in the brain it originates from and how stress can be reduced. A system called galvanic skin response device (GSR) has been tried to be used in order to examine what events cause stress in the human body and what it is affected by. This system, also called Electrodermal Activity (EDA) or Skin Conductance (SC), is based on the amount of sweat and moisture in the skin. That is, it is associated with sweat glands. Sweat glands are also controlled by the sympathetic nervous system of the autonomic nervous system. Physiological signals in sweat glands were tried to be measured in this way. The sympathetic nervous system, which controls the activity in the sweat glands, is stimulated to respond to external stimuli. And with the effect of these changes, electrical impulses that change under stress are measured.

Electrodes are attached to the hands since sweat glands are mostly found in the hands (fingers, wrist, palm). The variation of the low voltage current applied between the two electrodes is achieved as a galvanic skin response. It does not detect the type of emotion. In both positive and negative emotions, the moisture level, which is the activity of sweat glands, changes, the electrical activity changes. And this measures that. In this way, abnormalities in the body can be detected, diseases can be detected.

At the same time, this system is used in some devices known as lie detectors.

This device, which is important for many studies, is also an important resource for neuromarketing.
